Tips on Stocking the Bar - How Much Alcohol to Buy for how many people?

The Calculations:

Wedding lasting approx 4 hours. - How many adults will be there?

Total number of drinks is calculated at 4 drinks per head - 100 guests - 400 drinks

What will you be serving? beer and wine only - split 50% beer and 50% wine

BEER

KEGS - hold 140 cans or 151 twist tops worth - so approx serving 40 guests worth

Beer: Be aware that guests will always favour premium beers over mainstream if given the chance (i.e. if its free!).

WINE

- 750ml bottle = 5 drinks

3L cask = 20 drinks

Wine: In winter go for a dominant red mix - opposite for afternoon or summer function, and they say you should now favour Sauv Blancs over Chardonnay (if all ask fails, as your liquor store for advise on this one).

SPIRITS

The only issues this leaves is deciding between brands and varieties - but this will come down to personal preference. Your local liquor store should be able to help with this.

Margaritas for a crowd - Recipes

Margarita #1 Recipe

single drink recipe - Best Recipe

1 oz Tequila

1 oz Triple Sec

1 oz lime juice

1 oz sour mix

or - Easy Recipe

1 oz Tequila

3 oz Margarita mix

-Based off of first recipe-

using 1 cup of each ingredient would yield 8 margaritas since there are 8 ounces in a cup -

Equal amounts for everything..

We suggest getting a new 5 gallon bucket with a lid.. and mixing your margarita recipe in that. .

Then you could just pour into a fountain. which is normally 5 gallons..

1 gallon = 16 cups

SOOOOO -- Heres the math for a 5 gallon bucket

16 cups X 5 gallons =  80 cups

20 cups or 160 oz of each ingredient will do the 5 gallon recipe

5 gallons will normally serve around 50-75 guests

(note: 5 gallons is 640 ounces)

Fountains are an additional  $65 - But this is the easiest way to serve.. if you are not having a full bartender.

Tequila notes:

 1L is 40 ounces

1.75 Lt - 56 ounces

EASY RECIPE - 5 gallons - approx 50-75 guests

Margarita Mix - 480 ounces

Tequila - 160 ounces
