IPAD is a great investment if you do what we do!!! at 12:00 am

Well, I’m just tickled pink! I had jumped up and down for about 15 minutes yesterday…… let me back up a tad… for about a month I’ve been complaining about how in appointments I couldn’t find pictures quickly and I didn’t have a lot of the pictures of the locations.. and when I would go to find a picture in 1 of my 8 books that have thousands of pictures in them… I was sooo frustrated.. so yesterday when I came home my husband said he had something that I would love…. He handed me an IPAD! ooooo I started screaming and jumping and giving him a million kisses… (okay not all exactly, but close) I couldn’t wait to start putting everything on it..

So now after about 10 hours of work… I am starting to have all my pictures organized, where the bride comes in and says I want a location in Franklin.. boom… I have all the franklin locations within 60 seconds that I can show her… or if a bride comes in that says… I would like a barn type wedding.. boom.. within 60 seconds i can show her since I have them organized by city or by type of venue..

Then if she says I don’t know what type of bouquet to get….boom…. instantly I have all my bouquets pulled up… and then I also have them organized by color..

Photography, even videos, catering pictures, catering menus… Package examples… oh my oh my… how did I exist without this!!!!

Oh one more thing… I always draw for the client… that way they can visualize it.. there is a professional drawing app on here that I can draw fine details.. add color.. BOOM print on a wifi network.. send immediately through email.. to my crew…

Amazing amazing… and I’m just barely getting started on it! Cant wait to show it at the next new client appointment!!!

Using a fake wedding cake in your reception August 27, 2010 at 8:25 pm

This weekend I’m doing something at this weekends wedding that I’ve never done before. Using a fake wedding cake! My bride orginally had wholesale cakes only and I was supposed to figure out a way to make them pretty. She came to the bridal show we were at this past weekend saw our new black and white office display cake(see pic below) and said “hey we can use that cake!” so we are using the display cake as the “real wedding cake” and we will have the other actual real cakes cut up in the back.. When it comes time to cut the cake we will carry it out of the room and go “cut” it… It’s come apart 3 times traveling w me.. It’s kinda a pain… But if I can get it to the reception i think we’ll be fine! We will see how it goes!

Russian wedding gown designer August 21, 2010 at 3:59 am

Today I finally finished our show space in wedding 101 in Franklin, Tn as I was finishing up the lady that has the wedding dress area started talking with me and she was really neat, shes a russian wedding gown designer and I think she loves what she does about as much as I love what I do! It was really eye opening talking w her(about wedding gowns)! Found out you could get a custom made custom taylored wedding gown for a lot less than I thought! Her gowns start around a $1,000 and can go up to $100,000+!
She has a vintage style and she uses very soft silks, even her poofy dresses are really lightweight. If your looking for vintage feel, simple and elegant or modern or dramatic and blingy she does it all.. Here is olias website: http://oliazavozina.com

I’m getting to know more about her… and I think I found a new friend as well as a new connection with the part of the wedding that I tend to stear clear of.. The dress… Well good night for now… Tomorrow is a super crazy day.. Draping Jamison hall in franklin for the bridal show on Sunday! Now only if my brain would slow down so I can get to sleep!

The next workshops are coming quickly! We only allow up to 10 people at each workshop. We want to show you hands in training how to do what we do! Workshops start our at $500 for a 2 day workshop. Weddings 101 in franklin August 13, 2010 at 12:31 am

Today I stopped by wedding 101 in Franklin at the factory, I had 2 of my girls tell me i had to go see them, I walked in and I was impressed. They help brides find vendors that go with their budgets. It’s a free service for the brides and vendors purchase space to display and it’s set up very nice. High class feel. I liked it and now ill be a vendor there too! We are going to setup our “space” on Tuesday! So make sure you drop by and see it if your in the area! And if your a Franklin or Brentwood bride, instead of having to come all the way to Smyrna for an appointment, I can meet you there!

Bridal show in franklin! August 12, 2010 at 3:20 am

So we have approached a new location called Durego in Franklin about doing a bridal show sponsered by one source weddings, and we have been given the ok!

These are the tentative plans (these could change) I want to do a show with all of our highly recommended people that one source weddings use. Now I don’t want this to be like any other bridal show that you’ve ever been to! Most times brides are so overwhelmed with all the vendors that walk out without a plan and totally confused! We want to eliminate all that. You can walk thru THIS bridal show and design your whole wedding instantly! This is going to be a very high class bridal show. It’s not going to look like your typical 10×10 spaces, one source weddings is designing and decorating the entire event! Every vendor will be able to really showcase their work. Now this will be an exclusive event for some vendors. They can choose to be the only cake person there or they can choose to have 1 or 2 other cake people there also.. We are not going to allow a lot of one category into the show! There are lots of plans in the works, and the ideas are rolling off! And it’s just one of those things we know is going to blow the socks off of all who come! I’ll post more info later! Wedding planner in smyrna at 3:10 am

So it’s been a while since Ive told you what one source weddings is, so let me share from the heart.

When I started One Source Weddings I really wanted it to be a unique place that brides could go to and get the best of the best of everything at one place.. It took a few years just to find those “best of the best” but after 9 years now we’ve got it!

When a bride comes into our office, she may or may not have a location, we start getting her input on what she’s looking for then in 2 hours we can design a full custom package based on her budget. She gets the decor for the ceremony and the reception, not just chair covers and centerpieces, but ceiling draping and custom lighting, the bouquet package, we design a photography package to for her needs, videography, the wedding cake, catering, the dj…. And after she leaves her entire package is design and budgeted!

We have done 100′s of weddings In the past 9 years. We love every single minute of it! Yes we’ve had lots of learning experiences of what to do and examples of what not to do. We are constantly striving to be a better wedding company and always try to acheive the level if excellence! If you look at our photos online.. Looking for workshop sponser in New York and Florida July 24, 2010 at 4:10 am

Today is the first day of our July workshop… I’m soooo exhausted! I think I say that everytime.. There’s sooo much I want to share and there just never seems to be enough time.. And at some point I get so exhausted my brain stops working…So today I actually ended up staying till a little past 9 which normally I’m out of there on the dot at 5:00.. But I’m enjoying it.. I just hope they all will get something out of it!

Then I got home and got an email from someone in NYC wanting us to do a class there.. A couple days ago I had a lady from Florida asking if we were coming down there for a workshop.. I’d love to both places. But currently no sponser. So I decided to put what it would take on the blog for us to come to either state. NY or FL

Basically how it works. You find the location that we can use for 3 days. Thurs- Sat .. And the location has to be workable to teach ceiling drapery too.. It does not have to be pretty just workable…Most times you can send us a picture of the location and we can tell if it’s doable or not. Then you pay for hotel – 2 king size or queen size beds for thurs night, Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. And $1,500 cold hard cash when we arrive for just gasoline/ travel expense. (only exact price for NY or FL other states have different travel expense..)we have to rent a big truck to bring everything with us, And that’s it!!

You and 1 other person ) do not have to pay to register for that class ($1,600 value) and you get 1 free complete set of all the training videos. ($1,000 value) and lifetime free workshop classes that you(or just 1 person) can attend again and again at different workshops..(value..? Priceless!!!) You could go in with another designer or 2 and split the costs..

We then will post on our website a traveling workshop and post all the details and we will allow only 10 other people to register with us for that class.

And that’s our requirements to teach a workshop if your in the state of NY or FL. If you are the sponser!
