Working in franklin today! August 18, 2010 at 7:22 pm

Today we are setting up our booth space at weddings 101 in franklin tn and it’s a monsoon here! I’ve already changed clothes twice because they are drenched! I can’t hold an umbrella and carry a container at the same time.. Load up was a downpour and I’m having a feeling that the unloading will be very wet too! But we are excited about featuring one source weddings at this location. It’s a free thing for the brides, they come in and the planners there help them to choose the vendors that fit what they want and within their budget. And we specialize in designing full packages within budgets and I think we are the only ones that do draping, so I think it’s going to be great! Can’t wait to see how many brides come from this! It’s a lot of work and expense but hopefully worth it! I guess we will see!

My phone!!! If you cant reach us on the 485 number June 6, 2010 at 8:17 pm

I just realized our 615-485-2193 number is not forwarding to my phone.

I have to set up the call forwarding from THAT phone and I currently can’t find it cause I haven’t used the actual phone in 6 months…

But if you have been trying to reach us and cannot, (until I find that darn phone) you can reach me at 615-967-1793- you can text me on that number.

Sorry for the inconvience.

Used spotlights just posted on our store May 29, 2010 at 8:22 am

Just posted on our store a new USED section.

If we have items for sale that have been used by us then that is the link we will post on.

Right now we have 20 par 64 can lights – black for sale

It’s the complete light unit minus the lamp , with c clamp and gel frame.
Looks awesome, not all bent up and beat up.

I recommend getting the 500 watt light instead of 1,000 if you are wanting to get more wattage per circuit. (or more lights without blowing a breaker)

We’ve used this kind of light for uplighting for the past 7 years. Really durable and affordable. These sell new for $125 each without bulb. So it’s a great deal too.

Here is the link to purchase. We only have 20 in stock.. And they will go quick!

One Source Weddings going to the Virgin Islands to do a workshop??? Workshops around the world? May 4, 2010 at 12:33 am

DID YOU KNOW….One Source Weddings will go anywhere in the world to teach a workshop.. its just up to you to host it!

You will be in charge of the flight, hotel for 5 days – teaching for only 3 days and we have 2 free days to see the sites.

You must have materials for us to teach with.  A list can be compiled to fit with what you are wanting to learn. And what you want your workshop to be about!

You must provide transportation and lunch and dinner each day or monetary equivalent.

$1,000 Cash upon arrival for our time spent there -…

That’s it!  super simple… then you can host and charge people in your area.. per person cost just like we do here in TN.

If you have a staff of people you want trained all at once or if you want to host a workshop yourself.. We are here to teach others how to do what we do..

And now this is how we are offering our services to those outside of the TN area.

Right now we may be headed off to the Virgin Islands in August.. One of the past workshop attendees.. called and is pregnant and she has to have her staff, hands on trained just

like she was.. so now the details are being worked out..

We take it very seriously, and we find a joy in training and showing others how to do what we do.. We love meeting new people, taking them under our wings.. its really a pleasure..

Still hard work.. but its a joy!

So maybe we will be in your neck of the woods sooner than you think!

Wow what a day! Decorations and flooding May 1, 2010 at 9:41 pm

4:00 P.M. – So today began at 4:30 this morning. We got the reception decorations done at 11 then headed to ceremony to decorate… It was raining the whole day then about 1:00 it started REALLY coming down.. Took me 2 hours to go a 25 minute drive. I was scared to death on the interstate… You could see the water rising all around..and the big mac trucks keep making waterfalls over my mini van… It was soooo scary!!! About 10 minutes after I got home on the news they closed down the town right next to us because of the flooding, and 3 main interstates were closed. I knew the ceremony was supposed to start at 2:30 and my girl that was there said out of the estimated 250 guest count, she counted 25 people there at time to start…then more came in later… But the problem now is for them to get from ceremony to reception they are supposed to be on the interstate that is closed due to rushing water over the interstate…. I feel so bad for her….I wonder what will happen… I’ll find out and keep you updated!

Update- 5:34 the picture attached is the area the bride and guests have to go through to get to reception. .. Just watched in news where a mobile home got loose and went down the river which was I-24 and hit cars and disenigrated… Oh my lord.. This is the crazest wedding day ever!!

6:15- somehow the bride has made it to the reception!!!!! Now just the guests!

One Source Weddings around the World December 9, 2009 at 12:21 am

So what most people don’t know is actually how many other wedding planners and brides use us all over the world… This week got an email from a wedding planner in Guam.. she’s wanting some fabric for draping.. silk flowers.. petals.. products that we use a lot…  And its not a problem for us at all!  Just shipping is the only additional thing you have extra to worry about.. Last year we helped with a wedding that took place in Kenya, Africa.. we sent flowers.. helped them with designing the reception.. helped with fabric choices.. I sent a setup kit with zip ties…clippers.. everything they would need… because who knows how close a Lowes or Wal-Mart is!  And I believe it worked out great!  We have shipped silk bouquets all over the United States.. just sent a high quality silk flower cake topper to California last week to a bakery that wants to start using us for their clients… and the baker said she didnt just like it, she loved it!  Which is what we love to hear.. And yes, we do love to help out other wedding planners and offer our services.. …and the planners know the quality of what we send is something they are proud to present to their clients.. We sell pretty much everything that we do… and I dont mind helping out other planners… When I started.. the planners I tried to talk to wouldnt give me the time of day.. and it was so frustrating trying to figure things out through trial and error… and if I would have had a mentor from Cal-a-ma-zoo or wherever.. just to have someone to ask questions.. or to get advice from.. or to find where to get product from… it would have been so much easier for me… so I want to be known not only for what we offer to brides.. but what we can offer to wedding planners also…

Maybe, some people think they are too far away.. but with email and cell phones(texting of course)(and picture phones)… nowdays its a lot easier than you think… and a little piece of One Source Weddings is all around the world! We ARE world-renowed and the world just doesnt know it yet!

OSW Fans — Update on us! September 14, 2009 at 12:07 am

Hello OSW Fans, I bet your all wondering if I dropped off the face of the earth for not blogging or updating the site recently.  We got new website software in May that I’ve been having to take each page of our website and type it in… and put new pictures.. and update the wedding.. anyways… I didnt realize there were SOOOO many pages on our website… I’ve got so much new stuff on the new website to share… but Its just getting it updated… I apologize for being a slow poke on this..

So I’ll tell you a little bit about whats going on..

We have a production company that is interested in us… and a videographer and an investor that wants to invest in us.. we have over a million hits a month on our website.. and we are wanting something that is inexpensive to OSW fans ..  a teaching lesson on how to do a certain flower arrangement that we just did… or how we did a backdrop… or simple techiniques with bouquets… and have it to where you can pay for it online and download it instantly… I think its a great idea… a ton of you email me monthly and are asking about draping dvds and teaching dvd sets… well thats another thing we are working on… sooooo hang in there with us..

We’ve had some great weddings too… that are not posted yet …  and there are stories about each one.. May we had weddings booked every weekend that the ceremony was outside… well, here in Tennessee the weather changes, I’m pretty sure by the hour.. anyways every weekend in May was rained out and we had to come up with a completely different plan within just days before the actual wedding. Some hilarious and wonderful things happened out of the last minute setups

We had one wedding in May that one of our workshop attendees came and worked to get more experience.. We had a complete all in one wedding that we started 9 a.m. on Friday morning and did about 12 hours on Friday.. then saturday was the wedding.. that lasted until 2 a.m. .. but we also had another wedding on Sunday that had at least a 10-15 hour ceiling setup… we had originally talked with the hotel and had the day before (sat) to work on the ceiling.. so I was going to send some of my team in the morning time to start work on the ceiling drape… then the hotel called and said we couldnt get in till 10 P.M.! Yep, I’m not for sure if you fire on all cylinders without sleep for 3 days.. I fired on maybe 75%… but some of my team went during the other wedding to start on the ceiling.. at 10 p.m. and we finished at 10 a.m. the next morning.. and then did the Sunday wedding that ended at midnight… You talk about coordinatingggggg.. I think we were overcoordinated… I really wanted to make sure we had it down to a t. And we did it.. and it turned out incredible.. I cant wait to show you..

In June we had a wedding in an Airport Hanger which was pretty cool.. actually cool might not be the right adjective.. it was incredible HOT.. but looked cool…  :-) – It was my first wedding I did completely without any flowers.. it was a challenge for me..

In July we had a wedding that was at The Factory in Franklin.. which we’ve done several times before.. we had a whole new design.. and normally I wont drape unless they have the day before booked also.. you just dont know what you will run into… Ceiling Draping is NOT as easy as it looks.  The bride did not pay a deposit for the day before and it ended up getting booked…So we came in on the same day at 5 in the morning and created an incredible ceiling drape, tunnel, and massive fresh flower arrangements and a focal point.. we call it a chuptagon around the cake… and it was breathtaking… We were so proud of ourselves for accomplishing it… I tell you if we ever got on a TV show it would be so much more interesting than some of the other wedding shows… no upety up wedding planner complaining about her brides budget… no bride drama… but the hilariousness of how we accomplish our normal budget normal brides beautiful wedding.

We’ve had 2 more workshops that were just great! I am looking forward to these workshops now just as much as weddings… I’m trying to give some of the brides that come in with a low budget to just “trust” us and let the workshop create the wedding for them.. with all the elements that we teach at the shop.. but then the workshop attendees get to “see” a real bride using what they just learned.. and get to experience the gloriousness of it all.

(Personal Side note: Jeremy and I got another boxer puppy.. kinda crazy, I know.. )

I thought I couldnt get to my blog either.. and Jeremy (my techinical wonderful photographer hubby) asked me why I hadnt been blogging.. I didnt know I could!!! Now at least I can still let you know whats going on..

You can probably tell I’m just overflowing with way to many words… I cant tell you everything thats happened since May in just one post… now that I realize I can post without the new software.. I will be back on track..

We also added on more workshops that are not on this website yet… (on the new one)

They are November 13th and 14th 2009

January 15 and 16th 2010

February 19 and 20 2010

Until Next Time!  Wendy!

UGGGG LINKS!!!!!!…. and an awesome castle location in Kentucky September 3, 2009 at 12:16 am

Okay.. so I’ve been sooooo excited about the new website design since MAY!  Today.. I had doubled checked all the links.. and they were perfect…  but low and behold I upload the whole website.. take off the old one.. and Wal-la!… THEY DONT WORK!! Okay I’m venting.. yes I should invest in a website designer but I’m too stubborn and I know I can do it ! Jeremy showed me how to fix it and I feel like I want to crawl under the carpet and pray for a miracle… uuuggggg links!!!

Okay but besides the venting.. busy week.. last week I went to Lexington Kentucky and did some decorating there. On my way back though I about fell out of the car seat.. there was this massive castle.. I’m talking the giant walls and everything.. Its amazingly awesome!  I didnt see the inside but the outside was so impressive I had to pull over and write the name of it down.   It ended up being a super high class hotel called “The Castle Post”.. and Yes they do weddings there… !  Thats about all I know about it.. If you were looking for a castle to get married at but didnt want to go to another country.. this would be the place..  I tried to post a picture and here is there website.. for your castle destination wedding

http://www.thecastlepost.com/

This weekend I’m headed up to Cleveland, Ohio to take a “rental type” package there.. Maybe I’ll see some other great destination wedding locations…

Oh yeah… and Hopefully the website will be back to normal soon… or else if its not.. you may be reading my next blog from the looney bin! :-)
