Looking for workshop sponser in New York and Florida July 24, 2010 at 4:10 am

Today is the first day of our July workshop… I’m soooo exhausted! I think I say that everytime.. There’s sooo much I want to share and there just never seems to be enough time.. And at some point I get so exhausted my brain stops working…So today I actually ended up staying till a little past 9 which normally I’m out of there on the dot at 5:00.. But I’m enjoying it.. I just hope they all will get something out of it!

Then I got home and got an email from someone in NYC wanting us to do a class there.. A couple days ago I had a lady from Florida asking if we were coming down there for a workshop.. I’d love to both places. But currently no sponser. So I decided to put what it would take on the blog for us to come to either state. NY or FL

Basically how it works. You find the location that we can use for 3 days. Thurs- Sat .. And the location has to be workable to teach ceiling drapery too.. It does not have to be pretty just workable…Most times you can send us a picture of the location and we can tell if it’s doable or not. Then you pay for hotel – 2 king size or queen size beds for thurs night, Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. And $1,500 cold hard cash when we arrive for just gasoline/ travel expense. (only exact price for NY or FL other states have different travel expense..)we have to rent a big truck to bring everything with us, And that’s it!!

You and 1 other person ) do not have to pay to register for that class ($1,600 value) and you get 1 free complete set of all the training videos. ($1,000 value) and lifetime free workshop classes that you(or just 1 person) can attend again and again at different workshops..(value..? Priceless!!!) You could go in with another designer or 2 and split the costs..

We then will post on our website a traveling workshop and post all the details and we will allow only 10 other people to register with us for that class.

And that’s our requirements to teach a workshop if your in the state of NY or FL. If you are the sponser!

You can text me at 615-967-1793 if your intrerested! Thanks! And maybe one day we will see you soon!

Emails emails emails.. at 5:57 am

It’s 12:57 in the morning I just spent over 8 solid hours deleting and organizing over 9,000 emails. It’s so easy when everything gets busy to forget if you checked on what you said you were gonna check on.. Or if I responded..so I thought I’d bite the bullet and it was a BIG bullet and get it done… And I did it! Whew that was tough! Now maybe It will be easier to keep track of our over 100 emails a day..

Wedding in the rain! June 14, 2010 at 5:32 am

Where to begin… We had draping up in the gazebo (thurs)..Rehearsal night we got halfway through it and all of a sudden the wind ripped the drapings off the columns and started blowing them everywhere and rain blew into the gazebo and stormed crazy… So Fri(wedding day/today) we cut the hanging arms off the draping and had the ceiling draping and this giant flower centerpiece in the ceiling.. All the flower arrangements were beautiful.. Ceremony setup perfect.. Weather perfect… Bouquets, bride.. Everything perfect.. Ceremony supposed to start at 6:00.. 5 minutes before the ceremony started a huge storm cloud came over and we said let’s hurry and go ahead and start.. I asked all the guests to go ahead and take a seat.. Then the wind started blowing.. Blew down the centerpieces… Then the rain started.. The bridal party was 175 feet away from the ceremony area in a building that they had to walk outside… We waited for the rain to let up.. It was barely drizziling and I said go! The whole bridal party except maid if honor and bride were walking down got halfway and it started pouring!! They all took off running.. We were stuck still in building with bride and one of my crew said I don’t mind getting wet let’s take the pop up tent and have them get in the middle and 4 of us can carry it with them underneath to the gazebo.. So my crew stood in the pouring rain to get the bride to the ceremony.. Now let me pause a moment and say this bride was incredible she said I’m not afraid to get wet..she had the best attitude I could ever imagine.. Well they got thru the ceremony I ran in the building and got my wireless Bose speaker because lighting stuck and the electric went out.. Got my iPhone and I had the song they were walking out on

But if you have been trying to reach us and cannot, (until I find that darn phone) you can reach me at 615-967-1793- you can text me on that number.

Sorry for the inconvience.

New way to drape tables! June 2, 2010 at 3:06 am

Just watched Jillian Michaels new show. Show was ok but at the end, the tv show took care of the cost of the wedding.. But the head table was draped a way that I don’t normally don’t do.. I paused it for about 5 minutes and I think I figured it out! I’ll do it on the cake table for the wedding this week! Wow I love it when a new idea hits home or you get inspired by something and actually fingure it out. I hope we inspire others like that!

2 other drape styles are available for training on our website.

Update on Wendys broken arm June 1, 2010 at 12:55 am

So today I finally used my right arm a tad. It hurts a lot but doc says I can try to start moving so elbow don’t lock up.. I’m just starting to try to for real move… Hopefully next couple days I can get back to working on the computer. I don’t recommend getting a broken elbow if your a wedding designer! :-)
Next wedding is June 12 so I’m hoping I’ll be fine by them! Thanks for all your prayers!

Used spotlights just posted on our store May 29, 2010 at 8:22 am

Just posted on our store a new USED section.

If we have items for sale that have been used by us then that is the link we will post on.

Right now we have 20 par 64 can lights – black for sale

It’s the complete light unit minus the lamp , with c clamp and gel frame.
Looks awesome, not all bent up and beat up.

I recommend getting the 500 watt light instead of 1,000 if you are wanting to get more wattage per circuit. (or more lights without blowing a breaker)

We’ve used this kind of light for uplighting for the past 7 years. Really durable and affordable. These sell new for $125 each without bulb. So it’s a great deal too.

Here is the link to purchase. We only have 20 in stock.. And they will go quick!

Still hanging in there- wendy May 25, 2010 at 9:42 pm

Well this will be short cause I’m typing on my iPhone app with my left thumb. My bruises and scratches are much better, my broken right arm is not in super pain thanks to good pain meds and not moving it. But the frustration of not being able to move it is starting to set in, can’t work on any computer work , fingers still can’t move.

We had a wedding this past weekend and I was so proud of my crew they had everything setup exactly by the drawings and specs we had designed for the bride. I’m so thankful for a crew that I can depend on.

Ok this has taken me about 45 min to write – I’ve got pictures of the past wedding and will post as soon as I can start moving my fingers again.. Ttyl

Wendy has had a bike wreck May 21, 2010 at 5:17 am

The weather was beautiful yesterday I decided to take a break and go bike riding and run our boxer dog w me on a leash. The dog whisper makes it look so easy. Well , I started going down a hill and Chloe took off running hard and I was going to brake. Wasn’t thinking the left brake brakes the front wheel. Front locked up and I went flying over the handlebars face first into the concrete. Thought I might have had a concussion, we were watching that all night..we knew something was wrong w my arm…but I didn’t want to go to the ER. Was at doctors all day today getting xrays. can’t move my right arm at all due to a broken elbow – lots of pulled muscles, bruises and some lovely road rash all over. I’m right handed so im learning how to be left handed for the next 6 weeks.. not easy!
But I’m thankful I didn’t break my kneck! It could have been a lot worse.

I’m also so thankful I have an incredible team of workers that I can count on to step it up when something like this happens. I’ll be able to direct them..but they’ve got it all under control.

But this weekends wedding should be interesting… Or at least how it all comes together will be interesting…

Oh and if you’d like to work some weddings in the next 6 weeks just email us!
